HEC Clarification on Teacher Education Roadmap

Important Update from Higher Education Commission (HEC)

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, Islamabad, has issued an important clarification regarding the Teacher Education Roadmap, addressing queries raised in a letter dated September 02, 2024. This clarification was officially provided by the Deputy Director (Curriculum) of HEC on September 18, 2024, through the document number No. HEC/CURRI/FDE/2024/6513.

Key Points of the Clarification

Applicability of the Teacher Education Roadmap: The Teacher Education Roadmap applies to all degrees listed under clause (3) of the roadmap, regardless of their issuance date. The roadmap is universally applicable to the mentioned degrees.
Eligibility for MS Education: Candidates with a B.Ed. 1.5-year program after 16 years of qualification are eligible for MS in Education without requiring additional deficiency courses, as clarified by the HEC.
B.Ed. 1.5-Year Program Equivalence to M.Ed.: Candidates who completed the B.Ed. 1.5-year program after 16 years of education now hold a qualification equivalent to the discontinued M.Ed. program.
