Revision of Special Allowance for Federal Government
Employees Announced 2024-24
The Government of Pakistan's Finance
Division has officially announced a revision in the special allowance for civil
employees of the Federal Government, effective from 1st July 2024. This
revision is set to increase the minimum wage/gross salary from Rs.32,000 to
Rs.37,000.
The allowance will be applicable to
all civil employees of the Federal Government and civilians paid from Defense
estimates, including contingent paid staff and contract employees on civil
posts.
The difference up to Rs.37,000 will
be granted as a special allowance.
The special allowance will be
subject to income tax.
It is admissible during leave and
the entire period of LPR except during extraordinary leave.
It will not be treated as part of
emoluments for calculating pension/gratuity or for the recovery of house rent.
Not admissible during the tenure of
international posting/deputation.
Upon repatriation, the allowance
will be calculated at the rate it would have been had they not been posted
abroad.
This increase in the special
allowance and minimum wage is accommodated within the budgetary allocation for
the fiscal year 2024-2025 by the respective Ministries/Divisions/Departments
without any need for supplementary grants.
